• 1] Rebooted for OSS compatibility in ALSA in new kernel. After startx:

OpenGL renderer string: ATI MOBILITY FireGL V5200 Pentium 4 (SSE2) (FireGL) (GNU_ICD)

but also needed to rmmod and then modprobe:

ipw3945 for wireless

• 2] autoexpect is not part of the expect gentoo package but as it is only a script can easily be downloaded and installed
• 3] There is not smtp authentication support in the smtpmail.el in the Gentoo installed GNU Emacs - copied from old t20
