UNEINS: Mystifying Oracle

UNEINS A3 (250g) colour print in an edition of 100.

UNEINS is a oujia, spirit or talking board designed to enable speedy communication and collective coding contact with spirit or deceased programmers; the ghosts in the machine code!

The UNEINS board features the full instruction set, and additional characters, for the MOS Technology 6502 computer processor, popular in the 1970s and used in the KIM-1, Apple II, Commodore 64 and Atari 8 bit computers, alongside many other platforms. The design of the board is based on the early talking boards of William Fuld, further incorporating elements of the medieval Ripley Scroll and the Rockwell International AIM 65 Advanced Interactive Microcomputer schematic.

Participants place their fingers on a glass, small plastic disk or custom instruction pointer, and it is moved about the board to form computer programs composed by the selected 6502 assembly language.

An instruction pointer (or planchette) is not included. Under no circumstances should code generated from the use of UNEINS be executed, even under emulation!

UNEINS ships, signed and numbered, in a protective cardboard tube in a limited edition of 100.

Pricing: 40 euros with free worldwide shipping. 97 available.
